Tankworld Australian Supertruck Nationals:

One of Australia’s most-popular racing categories, the Tankworld Australian Supertruck Nationals will bring their unique brand of racing to the Shannons Nationals in 2008.

With backing from new naming rights sponsor Tankworld, the series will feature at four Shannons Nationals events in 2008, with two rounds at Oran Park and two at Adelaide’s Mallala Motorsport Park.

Bob Middleton is gunning for four-consecutive titles in 2008, but he'll have some hot competition, with a range of new drivers and machinery.

Former Light Truck Champion John Falk returns to the class aboard an ex-Rodney Crick Championship-winning GMC, while Steve Zammit, Ben Rose and Fletcher Christian are all sporting new or upgraded rigs.

The 900kW, turbo-diesel machines are surprisingly nimble for their five tonne weight and put on hard and close racing - making them a favourite with spectators around the country.
