Victorian ace Richard Muscat has capped his title winning 2013 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia presented by Pirelli in perfect style, while John Morriss took the Elite Class round win and John Goodacre won the Elite Class title.

Muscat’s impressive Race 1 victory on Saturday was followed by two dominant race wins on Sunday, including GT3 Cup Challenge’s 100th race start on the morning.

Starting from pole position in the final race, Muscat held off early challenges from Jon McCorkindale to win the final race of the season.

In a truly impressive season, Muscat snared the record of most race wins – 13 from 18 races - along with new records of 17 fastest laps from 18 races and five pole positions from six rounds.

Muscat also joins former champion Kane Rose and Jeff Bobik with the second most race victories in the series' history.

“It’s been a dream weekend; pole position, three race wins and break the lap record. This year we also achieved the most race wins and most poles so it’s a great feat for the team,” said Muscat.

“I reckon this final round at Phillip Island would be the highlight of the season; winning the 100th GT3 Cup Challenge race and great results for the round.”

The Elite Class championship was won by South Australian John Goodacre, who was impressed with this feat, but more so with his runner-up position in the final Outright championship standings.

“I’m ecstatic to win the Elite Class championship; I haven’t won one for 12 or 13 years, so it’s really good to get back in the winners circle. The key to the season really was being consistent and finishing races,” said Goodacre.

“I was really happy to get second overall also. We started off the year looking for the Outright title but second is a fantastic achievement as Richard is a great driver."

Behind Muscat for the round result in the Professional Class was McCorkindale, with Porsche veteran Peter Fitzgerald in third.

The result placed Fitzgerald second in the Professional Class points for the season with Michael Almond in third.

Meanwhile, John Morriss finished first for the round in the Elite Class from Stephen Grove and John Goodacre, who won the Eltie Class championship from Grove and Morriss.

The Phillip Island round sees the conclusion of the sixth round of the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia presented by Pirelli series.
