JAMIESON WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP
Gary Pegoraro threw everything at Russell Jamieson in Race 3. The gap ebbed and flowed as the two negotiated traffic and Pegoraro dived at the line but Jamieson had enough gap in hand to win race 3 and wrap up the championship a race early. Matt Bass won the battle for third fighting with a reborn Jason Smith, back up to pace after engine repairs. Martin Latta pitted early falling out of this fight and Kristian Stebbing dropped out of the meeting. A broken gearbox also took Warren McIlveen out of third place and he limped home fifth ahead of Brendan Luneman and Ilya Harpas.
Dalton Rowell finished eighth to win 250 National and put himself four points in front of John Pellicano with a race to go. Dale Williams finished second ahead of Pellicano and Dan Lewis while Jason Akermanis spun to a standstill at MG after the accelerator cable broke.
125 class win was claimed by Gary Haywood in the Water Tunnell Car Wash Bakker-Honda, finally getting a finish after being so quick in qualifying. Despite a spin Tony Lappas finished second while Lindsay Jamieson is believed to be third, clarification to come.
Heading in the final race Jeff Reed leads 125cc 114 points to Paul Campbell 101, Tony Lappas 97, Tim Philp 91 and Garry Haywood 86.
250 National has Dalton Rowell on 102, John Pellicano 98, Jason Akermanis 89, Frank Giglio 80.
In 250 International First and second place are decided for Russell Jamieson and Gary Pegoraro. Third is up for grabs, Warren McIlveen and Jason Smith tied on 78 points with Matt Bass the smokey on 61 points.
