TAKE THE FATAILITY FREE FRIDAY PLEDGE THIS WEEKEND

In its ninth year, Fatality Free Friday calls for road users to make the pledge to consciously drive safely and obey road rules as a promise to themselves, their family and friends.

To support Fatality Free Friday, an initiative of the Australian Road Safety Foundation, the Bob Jane T-Marts interactive truck and inflatable car will be set up at the Porsche Carrera Cup at Phillip Island Circuit, Phillip Island, with Bob Jane T-Marts drivers Nick Foster and Nick McBride present to encourage racing fans and drivers to take the pledge to drive safely, by signing the inflatable car on Saturday 23 May 2015.

McBride will team up with sports car ace Neal Muston for the first time in the “Fatality Free Friday” Bob Jane T-Marts #77 Porsche whilst Foster partners up with the experienced Dylan Thomas (Fatality Free Friday / Bob Jane T-Marts #777).

Over 100,000 Australians have shown their support for safe driving by taking the pledge.

Those attending the Phillip Island round can go into the draw to win a $500 Bob Jane T-Marts gift card by taking the Fatality free Friday pledge and having a photo with the Bob Jane T-Marts driver cardboard cutouts.

“Through education campaigns like Fatality Free Friday, which work towards real behavioural change, we can continue to reduce the number of people who unnecessarily lose their lives on our roads,” said Russell White, Fatality Free Friday founder and Australian Road Safety Foundation CEO.

“Ultimately, we want every road user to adopt our campaign message and understand that the key to road safety is in their hands.”

Rodney Jane, CEO Bob Jane T-Marts, said that as tyres are the only contact between the driver’s vehicle and the road, the health and maintenance of the vehicle’s tyres is a critical aspect of road safety.

“We are pleased to support Fatality Free Friday and hope that we can encourage all vehicle drivers to take ownership of all aspects of road safety and help us prevent unnecessary loss of life on our roads,” Mr Jane said.

Taking the pledge with Bob Jane T-Marts is part of a range of activities scheduled in the lead up to Fatality Free Friday will take place on Friday, 29 May 2015.
