STATS SHOW SANDOWN'S SUCCESS
After a successful opening round of the Shannons Nationals Presented by Penrite at Sandown, the free-and-live streaming statistics showed a 141 per cent increase of viewers from 2015.
The live stream was proudly provided by Motorsports TV, and was also shared on other networks including the Shannons Nationals’ social and website, Speedcafe, Touring Car Masters, Australian GT and various motoring forums.
The total of live stream views – live and free on the Sunday only – was a total of 11,151 and included international viewers from the United States, Germany, New Zealand, Brazil and more.
The three SBS Speedweek post-produced shows of the Shannons Nationals received a cumulative combined reach of 829,753, despite a broadcast clash from the V8 Supercars’ coverage at Phillip Island.
Shannons Nationals’ Series Director Cameron McConville was pleased with the results and stated the growth of the Nationals.
“The live streaming component of all motor sport events just continues to grow and the numbers for Round 1 reflect that,” McConville said.
“Our pre-season preview show had over 300,000 people watching, which gives our teams and drivers a great introduction and particularly to new sponsors.
“It helps that viewers know where to go for their Shannons Nationals’ fix and the SBS Speedweek platform continues to deliver for us.”
The Motorsport TV’s live stream coverage will be available for two days during Round 2 at Phillip Island, including the Australian GT Championship, Australian GT Endurance Championship, Australian Production Cars 4 Hour, Formula 3 and Radical Cup.
