#WEFLYWITH23 IPADS FOR KIDS CONTRIBUTION GOES BEYOND $21K
Formula 3 Management, together with Kumho Tyre and Luke Spalding fans all over the world have taken donations over $21,000 after a presentation to the Spalding family at Sydney Motorsport Park today.
Formula 3 Management presented Errol Gilmour, on behalf of the Spalding Family, an iPad loaded with $2,323.23 of funds, proceeds from the sale of #WeFlyWith23 stickers at the V8 Sleuth store up until 2 November. This amount was in addition to offline sales of $530, proceeds having already been presented to the family.
The stickers were sold to every state and territory in Australia, as well as the United States and United Kingdom.
Kumho Tyre then followed up with a contribution of $1,700 from the sale of Formula 3 tyres, bringing the total 'Formula 3 and Friends' contribution to $4,553.23 and the total donated to the fundraising initiative to over $21,000.
In addition to Australian Formula 3, the Kumho V8 Touring Car Series field all ran the #WeFlyWith23 sticker on their cars at the recent Muscle Car Masters round.
All time by Formula 3 Management, the V8 Sleuth Store and Cartrek Sign and Design was donated to the project, in addition to a percentage of costs, which were paid out of the pockets of contributing partners.
Formula 3 Management wishes to thank all the people that supported the project, especially Robbie Jones from Cartrek Sign and Design, who designed and produced the sticker; and Aaron Noonan, the V8 Sleuth for his assistance in offering an online store at very short notice.
Thank you also to our friends and partners at Kumho, for their gracious support. Thank you to all those who assisted in logistics or promotion, including Rhys Vandersyde, Terry Stott, all the teams in Australian Formula 3, Supercars Media and the Inside Supercars program, Speedcafe, the NSW Formula Race Car Association, DGB Media, and the Shannons Nationals.
A special thank you to our supporters in series that Luke raced in, including Bill Acheson and the Formula Vee Association of Queensland, and our friends in the V8 Utes paddock and administration, especially Michelle Gray.
Thank you to other competitors, drivers, officials, series and supporters around Australia and around the world who supported the #WeFlyWith23 cause.
And finally, a special thank you, on behalf of Luke’s Family and Friends, to everybody who didn’t need a sticker, or wanted to contribute more and donated to Luke’s GoFundMe.
And donate they did. When we started this, we at Formula 3 naively thought initially that the burden of raising funds would be borne by us selling stickers.
Instead we are merely icing on a large cake of donations. And a bit like cake, it’s going to make a lot of kids happy at Christmas time.
Thanks, all of you.
