Sherrins ready for title fight with new M4

2016 Australian Production Car Series class winners, Sherrin Racing Team, will begin a new era in the series, debuting a new BMW M4.

After taking out Class B for the third year running, the team will progress to Class A for the first time this season.

The car will be campaigned by brothers Grant and Iain Sherrin, who previously ran the title winning #18 BMW135i, while the #19 BMW135i was contested by family patriach Michael Sherrin and friend David Ayres, taking second in Class B for the last three seasons.

"The two Sherrin Racing BMW135i [models] were no doubt still successful, but we were keen to give ourselves a makeover and make our move into Class A," Michael Sherrin said.

"After taking an extensive look at the other makes, we chose to stay with BMW and in doing so, the obvious choice was to go with the M4.

"My sons, Grant and Iain, the reigning Class B champions and the 2015 outright champs, will be driving the M4 at all rounds of the APCS this year, kicking off with the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour.

"Iain, David and I found ourselves on the podium of last years's inaugural Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, so we are pretty confident that with our new weapon we can find ourselves there again, it is safe to say we will be doing all we can to make sure that happens!"

The first round of the series heads to Bathurst in April, and will make their Shannons Nationals debut at Winton in June.
