The Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships was formed in 2006 as a partnership between racing categories, circuit promoters and the Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS).

Providing a regular and stable home for a wide variety of national-level motor racing categories, the Shannons Nationals combines a mixture of open-wheel, touring car, sports car and even truck racing.

New for 2008 are the Shannons V8 Touring Car Series and Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia categories, while the Australian Manufacturers Championship is set to revitalise Production Car Racing on the back of the Bathurst 12 Hour.

Events deliver value-for-money entertainment for motorsport fans, with non-stop quality racing and affordable admission prices. Spectators can also get up-close with the cars and speak to the drivers in the easily-accessible pit paddocks at easy round.

In 2008, the championships will consist of 10 rounds across four states of Australia, visiting seven different circuits.

Shannons Insurance continues their valued and enthusiastic support of the series in 2008, enabling the Shannons Nationals to continue its growth.

Racing from the Shannons Nationals will again be broadcast around Australia in 2008 on SBS’ Speedweek and Fox Sport’s Inside Speed.
